FMA: Brotherhood ep 42 + manga notes


Summary: Al is still unconscious and now in pieces while May and Marcoh continue trying to decipher the notes Scar’s brother left behind. Since there is most likely a hidden message in the notes, they are going over them again looking for all the places where “gold” and “immortality” are mentioned. Al regains consciousness and finds out the armor was too big to carry as one piece, so he was broken him up; Al also reveals this is the second time this has happened to him. While putting Al back together, May realizes something and scatters the pages of the note book all over the floor so she can group all the pages that mention gold and immortality in all their various ways together. FMA: Brotherhood ep 41 + manga notes


Summary: Winry, Scar and the rest of the characters that went into the mine continue through the mountain, meanwhile Miles and some of his men make plans to kill Kimblee and his two remaining me. Ed is opposed to killing them, instead wanting to capture them alive, however, Miles knows Kimblee will never talk and rejects Ed’s idea to capture them claiming that Ed’s softness will probably get him killed one day. After leaving Ed to make their preparations, Miles and his men discuss how much harder it is to fight without killing and how they all used to think like Ed, agreeing that the Elrics chose the harder path despite their soft ideals with Miles even being just a little envious of them. FMA: Brotherhood ep 40 + manga notes


Summery: Briggs is being controlled by officers sent from Central while General Armstrong is answering her summons to Central in regards to General Raven’s disappearance. While there, she meets Colonel Mustang who tries to ask her out for dinner, but gets rebuffed when she says she’ll eat him into bankruptcy. Before leaving, Mustang at least wants to give her some flowers during her stay stating there are some wonderful florists in Central. During her meeting with King Bradley, General Armstrong admits to killing Raven crediting him for informing her about the immortal army, the history of the country, and Bradley’s identity as a homunculus. General Armstrong then requests to have the seat that Raven held; Bradley is amused that she answered the summons knowing what she does and agrees to give her the position if she allows one of his men to control Briggs, she excepts the condition. FMA: Brotherhood ep 39 + manga notes


Summary: Scar is on top of a building with Winry as a hostage, Kimblee is mad that Scar has likened this to their first meeting only with their positions reversed. Ed runs in angrily grabbing Kimblee for not keeping a close eye on Winry and also prevents Kimblee from using his alchemy when he was intending to attack Scar even though he has Winry hostage. Scar destroys the building to make his escape while Kimblee is forced to pull back due to an oncoming blizzard. Miles is impressed with Ed’s performance in front of Kimblee only for Ed to tell him it was not an act and how mad he is at himself for having to put on that act. Cue flashback. FMA: Brotherhood ep 38 + manga notes


Summary: Hawkeye returns home after her encounter with Pride who’s parting words have left her terrified of anything lurking in the shadows. The phone rings and its Mustang trying to get rid of some of the ridiculous amount of flowers he bought, but she declines as she doesn’t have anything to put them in. Afterwards, in a considerably more relaxed state of mind, Hawkeye wonders why he always has such good timing. Meanwhile, in the north, the search for Scar in the abandoned mining town of Baschool begins. Of course the Elrics are not going to be let out of sight… Read the rest of this entry »

FMA: Brotherhood ep 37 + manga notes


Summary: Kimblee’s four bodyguards arrive at Briggs and Winry is busy fitting Ed with northern type automail. When Ed warns Winry not to trust Kimblee too much she remembers the car ride up to Briggs with him and how he told her that it was his unit that found her parents shortly after they died. Kimblee goes on to elaborate that he has a deep respect for them since they stuck to their principles as doctors till the end and that he’s glad to have meet their daughter. Of course now that Ed’s mind has associated Kimblee with Ishbal he remembers Hawkeye figuring out that he loves Winry, suddenly Ed becomes uncomfortable in his current position. FMA: Brotherhood ep 36 + manga notes


Summary: Hohenheim is seen apologizing while calling out some names saying he needs to use them before ripping out part of his chest only for the blood to absorb into the ground and his wound to heal instantly. Thirteen years ago when Trisha Elric was still alive and Hohenheim was still with her, it is revealed that as he watches his children age he becomes more and more terrified of what he is an desires to become human again. Trisha decides to take a family portrait with Hohenheim, Ed and Al; she tells Hohenheim that one day she’ll become a wrinkled old lady but that she’ll always be happy to take a photo with her family asking him not to distance himself from his family and not to call himself a monster. But he still takes the photo in tears instead of smiling… At some point he figures out Father’s plan with the nationwide transmutation circle and asks Trisha to wait for him as well as not to tell the kids about his body. FMA: Brotherhood ep 35 + manga notes


Summary: Picking right up where last episode left off, Ed and Al are quickly dragged into how things get done at Briggs using how they were “threatened” into helping as an excuse. Falman also gets pulled into helping move tank fuel for knowing the Elrics while General Armstrong uses three tanks to push Sloth into the elevator sending him upwards. Upon arriving, Sloth gets thrown by Captain Buccaneer, dowsed with tank fuel and then shot by another tank shell by the tank General Armstrong brought up the elevator. Still not enough to send him flying out of Briggs and with no more tank shells a combination of Falman dropping icicles on Sloth and the Elrics kicking him finally sends Sloth into the blizzard outside where he freezes solid.
