Dragon Ball Kai Episode 1 Summary+Review

Summary: The first episode starts off with some background story of Goku. About things like his father, his Saiya-jin (Saiyan) origin, and stuff that happened in Dragon Ball before Dragon Ball Z. After the back story, it is revealed that Goku now has a son named Gohan. Goku takes his son to visit his old friends (Bulma, Krillin, and Master Roshi). This happens while an alien spaceship lands on Earth and with little delay, the alien inside started searching for the planet’s highest power level. The first direction he headed to was towards Piccolo. When the alien arrives, Piccolo quickly puts on his usual pissed off expression and started shooting lazers at the alien thinking he is actually hurting him. But he quickly realize that he is a weakling compared to the visitor. Just before Piccolo gets owned, the alien picked up on another high power level and lost interest in the green man and flew away. When he gets there, Krillin tries to act tough and got smack hard in the face and was sent flying. Then everyone was shocked to see the alien has a tail that looks like the one that Goku used to have.

Review:
When Dragon Ball Kai was announced, i was totally looking forward to it. The day finally came! I started watching it, the opening theme song came on and it looked awesome! But it wasn’t long after that, that I feel disappointed. 1.5 minutes to be precise. The improvements of the video quality, colors, animation, and sounds are minimal and not even close to meeting my expectations.

Overall, I am quite disappointed in the first episode.  I will keep following this series in the hopes of it getting better and of course, because its DBZ!  If you are a Dragon Ball Z fan or have never seen DBZ before, then check it out. Otherwise, it might not be worth your time.
